    Hi!

Have you tried it in another browser?

Have you tried it on another device, such as a mobile phone?

Often, these issues are related to a problem with the website itself, or perhaps even a block. That is why it is important to perform the tests mentioned above.

Test Yahoo from another browser or device and a different network; if the same “Too Many Requests” message appears, contact Yahoo Support because the problem is not specific to Microsoft Edge.

Since clearing cookies/cache, resetting Edge, and using InPrivate have already failed, do not repeat those steps.

Identify whether Yahoo or Edge is responsible

    1. Try Yahoo’s sign-in page in another browser, such as Firefox or Chrome, or on a phone.
    2. If available, switch the phone to mobile data rather than the same Wi-Fi.
    3. If using a VPN or proxy, temporarily disconnect it before testing.
    4. Note the result:
      • Error occurs on other browsers/devices or mobile data: use Yahoo’s sign-in troubleshooting page and contact Yahoo Support. Yahoo handles account restrictions and Yahoo authentication failures.^1^
      • Yahoo works elsewhere but fails only in Edge: proceed with the Edge-specific steps below. Microsoft recommends another-browser testing to distinguish a website/network problem from an Edge problem.^2^

If the error follows the Yahoo account

Go to Yahoo’s official support page and select whatever support option is available for your account and region.^3^

    Also:

    • Avoid repeatedly submitting the sign-in form while the error remains.
    • Use only Yahoo’s official sign-in and support pages.
    • If Yahoo reports suspicious activity or you notice unfamiliar access after regaining entry, review connected devices, recent activity, and external applications.^4^

If it fails only in Microsoft Edge

    1. Open Edge → Settings and more (…) → Settings → About Microsoft Edge.
    2. Allow any available update to install, then restart Edge.
    3. Temporarily disable extensions through Edge → Extensions → Manage extensions, particularly ad blockers, privacy tools, or script blockers, and test Yahoo again. Yahoo lists extensions, security software, alternate browsers/devices, and browser reset among its website troubleshooting areas.^5^
    4. If updating and disabling extensions do not help, repair Edge:
      • Close all Edge windows.
      • Open Windows 11 Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
      • Find Microsoft Edge, select its menu, and choose Modify.
      • Approve the prompt and select Repair.

Microsoft states that Edge repair should not affect browser data or settings.^2^
