I ordered Office 2024 for Mac Checked my order Only Office 2024. Microsoft 365 came with the download. Don't want it

Sent to trash Excel, word, powerpoint. Tried Original download button - still tries to load 365.

Using Mini Mac 6. How do I load ONLY Office 2024. Seems many people have this issue.

I would like to talk to a human. [removed to protect privacy].

Office 2024 and Microsoft 365 for Mac use the same installer package. Seeing “Microsoft 365” in the download or installer name does not mean the wrong product was purchased.

For a one-time Office 2024 license on Mac:

    1. Sign in to the Microsoft account that was used for the purchase.
    2. Confirm the Office 2024 license appears under Services and Subscriptions.
    3. Remove the current Office apps from Finder > Applications by moving Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook to Trash.
    4. Reinstall Office from the install option for the Office 2024 product in the account.
    5. After installation, open an Office app and activate it with the same Microsoft account linked to the Office 2024 purchase.

If the Mac still prompts for Microsoft 365 activation, remove the existing Office license files on the Mac, then reinstall the apps and activate again with the Office 2024 purchase account. This is especially relevant if the Mac previously had Microsoft 365 or another Office license on it.

    Hi, @jay p

To help narrow down the issue:

    1. Where did you purchase Office 2024 for Mac? Was it directly from the Microsoft Store, Apple, or another retailer?
    2. Which macOS version is your Mac mini running? To check, click the Apple menu in the upper-left corner and select “About This Mac.”

If you haven't tried anything yet:

    • Make sure you're signed in with the same Microsoft account that the subscription is linked to.
    • Open any Microsoft 365 app such as Word. > At the top of the screen, select Word (or the app name) in the menu bar. > Select About Word. > Click More Info… > Select "Refresh License".
    • After that, close any open documents and completely restart all Microsoft 365 apps so the license refresh can take effect.

    If issue still persists:

If you haven't already, I’d suggest is to uninstall any existing Office apps on your Mac to avoid license conflict:

    Then, to reinstall Microsoft Office:

    • Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services
    • Sign in using the same Microsoft account linked to your license.
    • Find your Microsoft 365 Subscription and click the "Install".
    • That will download the installer for the Office apps, just run it and follow the steps.

If anything’s unclear or the "Install" option still doesn’t show, feel free to let me know. I’ll be happy to walk you through it!

If issue still persists, please provide more details about the issue by answering my questions.

    Ordered from Mac World website

Version on Mac mini 6 is Golden Gate 27.0.1

I tried the send to trash method mentioned on Microsoft Help. Got rid of word, excel, powerpoint etc..

Was going to try reload the install but am concerned it will awaken the 365 activate feature. Should is still try reinstall?
