Hello Microsoft Support Team,

I am currently a student with an active GitHub Student Developer Pack, verified since April 2025.

I am trying to activate the Azure for Students offer ($100 credit) using my personal Microsoft account. My GitHub account uses the same email address.

However, the activation process consistently fails with the following error:

"Unable to renew Azure for Students. Please try again shortly or contact us."

Current situation

  1. My GitHub Student Developer Pack is verified and active.

I have tried activating Azure for Students through the official GitHub Education offer and the Azure for Students registration page.

The activation process fails with the same "Unable to renew" error.

No Azure promotional or verification code was displayed.

My Azure Portal shows 0 subscriptions (0/0), with all subscription status filters enabled.

Under "Directories + subscriptions", no additional directories are available. My account is currently associated with the default Microsoft Services tenant.

I am not sure whether my Microsoft account has any previous Azure for Students subscription history.

Unable to contact Azure Support

When I try to open Azure Help + Support to create a support request, I receive this authentication error:

AADSTS16000: The selected user account from identity provider 'live.com' does not exist in tenant 'Microsoft Services' and cannot access the Microsoft Azure Support Portal Extension application.

The tenant ID displayed in Azure Portal is:

f8cdef31-a31e-4b4a-93e4-5f571e91255a

Because of this error, I cannot create a support ticket through Azure Portal.

I also tried the Azure sales chatbot, but it only redirected me to the Azure for Students pages and did not provide access to a human support agent.

Troubleshooting already attempted

Verified my GitHub Student Developer Pack eligibility.

Retried activation through GitHub Education.

Checked Azure Portal subscriptions and directories.

Attempted to access Azure Help + Support.

Attempted to contact support through the Azure sales chatbot.

Request for Microsoft Support

Could a Microsoft moderator or support representative please help with the following?

Check whether my Microsoft account has a previous, expired, or blocked Azure for Students subscription or enrollment record.

Investigate why the registration process treats my application as a renewal when no subscription is visible.

Review my Azure for Students eligibility and account verification status.

If appropriate, help correct or reset the enrollment state so that an eligible Azure for Students subscription can be activated.

Escalate this issue to the Azure for Students Subscription Management / Billing team, or provide a secure support channel that does not require an existing Azure subscription.

I can provide screenshots, proof of enrollment, and authentication diagnostic information privately if needed.
