How much RAM does your computer have? What type of drives, SSD or HDD and size? How much room is left on them?
What CPU do you have and how many cores and threads plus speed?

My laptop has been experiencing random, complete system freezes. I’m looking for help identifying the cause and fixing the issue before resorting to a clean Windows reinstall. Laptop: GIGABYTE AERO X16 1WH, Windows 11, Version 26H2OS build: 26300.9711,GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU, Integrated GPU: AMD Radeon Graphics.
The laptop freezes completely at random times, the screen stops updating, the mouse and keyboard become unresponsive, and pressing Caps Lock no longer toggles its indicator. The keyboard’s RGB lighting remains on.
The only way to recover is to hold down the power button to force the laptop to shut down. I feel like it happens mostly when i actually do something on the laptop and not when I leave it idle.

Hi, I'm Bernard. I'm happy to help!
Is there any particular app you are using when the issue happens? Have you observed the task manager if there is a high usage in CPU, RAM, GPU or Disk?
While waiting, can you please check the System logs on the PC so I can further examine the root cause of the issue?
To share the System logs, please follow the steps in the link below:
Press the Windows key + X, then select "Event Viewer"
Click the drop-down of "Windows logs"
Right-click System > click Filter Current logs > Check: Critical, Warning, and Error > Hit OK
On the right pane, click "Save Filtered Log File As..."
Save the System logs file to your desktop and share it by following the steps from the link:
Note: You can also use your preferred cloud storage to upload and share the logs.

For random full-system freezes on Windows 11 with no mouse, keyboard, or screen response, the most useful path is to separate a general Windows issue from a driver or hardware-triggered hang and collect data before considering a reinstall.
CrashOnCtrlScroll as a REG_DWORD with value 1 in both:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\i8042prt\ParametersHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\kbdhid\ParametersGiven the symptoms—complete lockup during active use, no Caps Lock response, and forced power-off required—the highest-value next steps are Event Viewer review, Safe Mode testing, Device Manager checks, and setting up a complete memory dump so the next freeze can be analyzed instead of guessing.
