A family of Microsoft spreadsheet software with tools for analyzing, charting, and communicating data.
Reload the Analysis ToolPak in Excel’s add-in manager; this feature is installed locally, so changing Microsoft accounts normally does not reload its missing ribbon command.
Reload the Analysis ToolPak
- In Excel, open File → Options → Add-ins.
- At the bottom, set Manage to Excel Add-ins, then select Go.
- If Analysis ToolPak is already checked:
- Clear its checkbox and select OK.
- Fully exit every Excel window.
- Reopen Excel and return to File → Options → Add-ins → Manage: Excel Add-ins → Go.
- Check Analysis ToolPak and select OK.
- If Excel says the ToolPak is not installed, select Yes to install it.
- Open the Data tab. The expected result is Data Analysis in the Analysis group, matching the button in your screenshot. The official procedure confirms that this is the add-in and location used for the command.^1^ Reloading it by unchecking, exiting, and enabling it again is the applicable next step when it already appears activated.^2^
Analysis ToolPak/Data Analysis is different from Microsoft 365’s Analyze Data feature. Your screenshot shows the former.
If the command is still absent
Temporarily test for a ribbon conflict:
- Go to File → Options → Add-ins.
- Set Manage to COM Add-ins, then select Go.
- Record which third-party add-ins are enabled, temporarily clear their checkboxes, and restart Excel.
- Check Data → Analysis → Data Analysis again.
- If it appears, re-enable the COM add-ins one at a time to identify the conflict.^3^
Repair Office if reloading does not work
On Windows 11:
- Right-click Start → Installed apps.
- Find Microsoft 365 or Office.
- Select the … menu → Modify.
- For a Click-to-Run installation, choose Online Repair → Repair.
- Restart Windows afterward, open Excel, and enable the Analysis ToolPak again.
On Windows 10, use Start → Apps and Features, select Microsoft 365 or Office, and choose Modify. Online Repair repairs the entire Office installation and is more comprehensive than Quick Repair.^4^
Managed work or school computer
If the command remains missing after Online Repair, ask the Microsoft 365 administrator whether Excel commands or macros are restricted by organizational policy. Administrators can disable ribbon commands through Group Policy.^5^
For a managed Microsoft 365 tenant, an administrator can open Microsoft 365 Admin Center → Support → Help & Support and submit a service request.^6^ For an unmanaged/personal installation that still fails after Online Repair, contact Microsoft Support and include the Excel version shown under File → Account → About Excel, plus a screenshot of the Excel Add-ins dialog showing that Analysis ToolPak is enabled.
