So now, every time I want to bold a portion of a cell entry, the text compresses as shown in attached image. The frustration with MS Excel is peaking -- why would I need to re-format every sentence, every time????????????

Good morning - I can confirm it is a font issue, per your comments above. Seems some fonts work, others don't. My preferred font is Segoe UI Historic, but when I changed to Calibri, the problem went away. Thank you for your suggestions and we are good.

    Hi @Sergio Machado

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. I can see from the screenshot that applying bold to part of the cell causes the rest of the text to become compressed, and having to reformat every sentence is certainly not a reasonable workaround.

Since you’re using an Insider version, could you share your exact Excel version and build number under Excel > About Microsoft Excel, along with your macOS version? Also, does this occur in a new blank workbook and with different fonts? This will help determine whether the behavior is related to the current Insider build, the workbook, or a particular font.

    Thank you for your time
