Building and customizing solutions using Microsoft 365 Copilot APIs and tools
Since Copilot is visible in Word and Excel on the same Mac, the Microsoft 365 Premium subscription and general app eligibility are already working. The Outlook issue is likely specific to Outlook, not the subscription itself.
Try these checks on Mac:
- Confirm this is an Outlook-specific issue
- The Dynamic Action Button change does not apply to Outlook.
- Outlook keeps its own Copilot entry points, so not seeing the Word/Excel-style button in Outlook is expected.
- Check Outlook-specific Copilot controls
- Outlook uses its own Copilot toggle and controls rather than the Word/Excel/PowerPoint Dynamic Action Button.
- Use the Outlook-specific Copilot toggle guidance.
- Refresh the Microsoft 365 license on Mac
- Open any Microsoft 365 app.
- Select the app name in the top menu.
- Select About <app name>.
- Select More Info...
- Select Refresh License.
- Close open documents and restart all Microsoft 365 apps.
- Check privacy settings on Mac
- Open Word.
- Select Word > Preferences > Privacy.
- Make sure Experiences that analyze your content is turned on.
- Make sure All connected experiences is turned on.
- If Microsoft 365 is managed by an organization, these settings may be controlled by IT.
- If Outlook still shows no Copilot
- If there is a license validation problem, use the license validation troubleshooting.
- If the validation error is gone but Copilot is still missing, use the missing Copilot guidance.
- For home users, if the issue continues after those checks, contact Support.
A key point: Outlook is explicitly excluded from the new Dynamic Action Button rollout, so Outlook should be checked with Outlook-specific Copilot controls rather than Word/Excel behavior.
