Building and customizing solutions using Microsoft 365 Copilot APIs and tools
Hi, I tried to reproduce the issue with the custom Copilot Studio agent, but I’m currently blocked because my demo tenant has exhausted its available Copilot Credits (EnforcementUsageCredits).
In the meantime, could you please try the following checks to see whether they help resolve the issue?
Checks to try:
- Verify that the user has the required permissions to edit the SharePoint document.
- Confirm that Work IQ is configured correctly, with SharePoint selected as a workload and preview workloads enabled if required.
- Check whether the tenant has any policies or licensing restrictions that prevent the custom agent from editing documents.
- Verify whether the same document offers the Allow edits option when opened using the standard Microsoft 365 Copilot experience.
- Confirm whether the custom agent can modify the document through its available tools, independently of the Word editing UI.
Potential workaround: If the Word editing option remains unavailable, check whether the agent can make the required change through an authorized SharePoint/Work IQ tool, provided the tool supports the operation and the user has the necessary permissions. Please verify that the document is actually updated rather than relying solely on the agent's response.
Could you please try these checks and let us know whether they help?
Thanks!
