A family of Microsoft word processing software products for creating web, email, and print documents.
This matches a known Word for Android usability issue where the toolbar can cover the active editing area.
Try these workarounds in Word:
- Press Enter to move the active line higher on the screen.
- Use the phone’s Back button to hide the keyboard, then reposition the document.
- In Word, tap the Mobile view button to switch to the phone-optimized reading/editing view. When needed, switch back with Print Layout.
- If formatting options are taking too much space, collapse or reduce the visible ribbon area where possible. On Android phones, some formatting controls are shown only after expanding the ribbon.
- Submit feedback from inside Word through Profile picture > Help & Feedback and include the device model, Android version, and Word app version.
For broader Android app rendering problems affecting multiple Microsoft apps, a reported workaround is:
- Open Settings on Android.
- Search for Android System WebView.
- Open App Details in Store.
- Remove Updates.
- Reboot the phone.
- Open Android System WebView again and Update it.
- Reboot again.
If Android System WebView does not appear in the app list, the reported path is: Settings > Google > All services > System Services > Android System WebView.
For Word-specific help inside the app on Android:
- Tap the menu button on the toolbar. If it is not visible, tap the back arrow at the top left of the toolbar.
- Tap Settings.
- Scroll to Online Help and Support.
