Open Microsoft’s Surface support page in a browser or the Surface app, describe the display issue, and select Get Help; after signing in, Microsoft will show the available contact options, which may include live chat.^1^
Start a live chat
- Go to Microsoft Support.
- Select the Personal account tab and choose Get help under Microsoft technical support.
- Sign in with the Microsoft account associated with your Surface or existing support request.
- Enter Contact Support or Live Chat in the problem-description field.
- Select Surface as the product and choose the category matching the display or screen issue.
- Select Contact support, then choose Chat with a support agent in your web browser if offered.
Microsoft notes that the contact method depends on the product and account, and chat is offered when appropriate.^2^ The accepted live-chat procedure also recommends entering Contact Support or Live Chat if the automated flow keeps returning help articles.^3^
Escalate the existing request
When connected to the agent:
- State immediately that this is an existing Surface support request.
- Provide the case or service-request number—do not post it publicly here.
- Ask the agent to review the existing case and escalate it to the appropriate Surface support team.
- Keep the previous case emails, troubleshooting results, device serial number, and warranty information available.
There is no documented public “escalate” button in the supplied support workflow; escalation must be requested through the agent handling or reviewing the existing case.
If chat is not displayed, use the Get Help app in Windows: search for Get Help, enter Chat with an agent, select Contact support, choose Surface, and follow the prompts. A callback may appear instead of chat depending on availability.^4^
