microsoft admin portal re-directs me to Go Daddy

I need to login into admin.microsoft.login to set-up a Windows 365 Business license for a Cloud PC for my offshore production support team.

Every time I try to login to the admin portal, I get re-directed to Go Daddy admin page that does not have this option. I spoke with Go Daddy and they said they could not help me - only Microsoft could help me.

I am stuck in a doom loop and need help accessing the admin portal or at least ordering the Windows 365 Cloud PC for my offshore team.

Help!

    Good day Sam,

Just to gently clarify before going any further, this forum is separate from Microsoft Support. I don’t have the ability to access or investigate individual accounts or escalate the issue directly Microsoft Support because this is a user‑to‑user support forum.

The redirect happens because your Microsoft 365 subscription is managed through GoDaddy, so admin access is being routed to the GoDaddy portal instead of the standard Microsoft 365 admin center.

Option 1: Sign in with the original administrator account

    • Open an InPrivate or Incognito browser window.
    • Go to https://admin.microsoft.com.
    • Sign in with the original tenant administrator account, such as ******@tenant.onmicrosoft.com.
    • If you can access the Microsoft 365 admin center, go to Billing > Purchase services.
    • Search for Windows 365 Business, choose the Cloud PC configuration you need and complete the purchase.
    • Please make sure the account has billing permissions, such as Global administrator or Billing administrator.

Option 2: Purchase Windows 365 directly

    • Go to Windows 365 Business Plans and Pricing | Microsoft
    • Select See plans and pricing.
    • Choose the Cloud PC configuration you need.
    • Select Buy now and sign in with your organization's account.
    • Follow the prompts to complete the purchase.

Option 3: Contact GoDaddy for tenant management assistance

Since your Microsoft 365 subscription and tenant were originally set up through GoDaddy, GoDaddy currently manages the tenant’s account provisioning and administrative access.

Microsoft Support cannot directly change or remove GoDaddy’s tenant configuration. Therefore, GoDaddy Support needs to review the tenant and help you either purchase the required license through their service or move the tenant away from GoDaddy. When contacting GoDaddy, please ask them to escalate the case to their Microsoft 365 tenant or migration team.

    After the license is purchased:

    • Go to https://windows365.microsoft.com.
    • Sign in with an administrator account that can assign licenses > Open Your organization's Cloud PCs > Select the user who needs a Cloud PC > Open Licenses and apps > Assign the Windows 365 Business license and save the changes. This will start the Cloud PC provisioning process for that user.

I wish I could help more directly, but as a fellow user in this community, providing these steps is the best support I can offer. If you have any updates or additional questions, feel free to reply back and I'll do my best to assist further.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Sign in with the tenant’s original *.onmicrosoft.com administrator account in a private browser window; using the GoDaddy-managed custom-domain account can trigger the reseller redirect even when accessing Microsoft’s admin portal directly.^1^

Try the Microsoft tenant administrator account

    1. Open an InPrivate/Incognito window so the browser does not reuse the GoDaddy account session.
    2. Open https://admin.microsoft.com.
    3. Sign in with the original administrator address created with the tenant, typically similar to: [Email]
    4. If access succeeds, go to: Billing → Purchase services
    5. Search for Windows 365 Business, select Details, choose the required CPU/RAM/storage configuration and quantity, and complete checkout. This requires a Microsoft 365 tenant and a Global Administrator or Billing Administrator account.^2^

Do not use admin.microsoft.login; the documented portal is admin.microsoft.com.

    Assign the Cloud PCs

    After purchase:

    1. Open https://windows365.microsoft.com.
    2. Sign in with an administrator holding the License Administrator role.
    3. Select Your organization’s Cloud PCs.
    4. Select a user, then Licenses and apps.
    5. Select the Windows 365 Business license and choose Save changes.

License assignment immediately starts Cloud PC creation; provisioning can take up to 30 minutes.^3^

If no onmicrosoft.com administrator is available

The redirect indicates that the tenant may be GoDaddy-managed, but that should be confirmed before changing anything. Since ordinary GoDaddy support has already declined to help, reopen or escalate the case using this explicit request:

Escalate this to the Microsoft 365 tenant/provisioning team. Confirm whether our Microsoft 365 tenant is GoDaddy-federated and provide either the original onmicrosoft.com Global Administrator access or the supported tenant-defederation process. We need direct Microsoft 365 administration to purchase and assign Windows 365 Business.

Ask for the case number and written confirmation of:

    • Whether defederation retains the existing tenant and user data.
    • Which administrator account will work afterward.
    • Required password resets.
    • Effects on existing GoDaddy licenses, email and DNS.
    • The exact cutover window.

Do not cancel the GoDaddy subscription, remove the custom domain, or change DNS before that plan is confirmed. Closely matched cases warn that doing so can disrupt existing email service.^4^

A reseller relationship cannot be removed by the customer directly; Microsoft’s documentation says the reseller partner must remove it.^5^

If GoDaddy still refuses to escalate

Use Microsoft’s public Contact Support flow rather than returning to the inaccessible admin portal. Microsoft notes that agents cannot directly change account details, but this route can identify the appropriate account or business-support option.[^6^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Microsoft 365 for business")

Be aware that Microsoft 365 business support through the admin center requires at least one subscription purchased directly from Microsoft; when every subscription was purchased through a partner, Microsoft directs support requests to that partner.^7^

    Time-sensitive alternative: create a separate Microsoft-direct tenant

If the Cloud PCs do not need to use the existing GoDaddy-managed identities, buy Windows 365 Business through the Windows 365 products site and create a new Microsoft-direct organization account during checkout. Do not enter the existing GoDaddy-managed custom-domain identity.

This avoids modifying the production email tenant, but it creates a separate tenant with separate users and administration. It is therefore suitable only if maintaining two identity environments is acceptable. Microsoft documents direct product-site purchase when setting up a new account, followed by license assignment through the Windows 365 portal.^2^
