Hello Microsoft Support,

I operate a Ukrainian educational YouTube channel called "Гіпотеза UA".

I generate Ukrainian narration using the Microsoft neural voice "uk-UA-OstapNeural" through the open-source Python library "edge-tts", which accesses the Microsoft Edge online speech service.

Could you please confirm:

  1. May I use the generated audio in YouTube videos that are monetized or may be monetized in the future?
  2. Is commercial use permitted when generating audio through the third-party "edge-tts" library rather than Azure Speech?
  3. Can already generated audio recordings be commercially published?
  4. Which official licensing terms apply to this specific usage?

I would appreciate written confirmation or a link to the applicable official license terms.

Thank you.

    Thank you for your response.

I understand that Azure Speech and Edge Read Aloud are different services.

However, I still need an authoritative licensing clarification specifically for audio already generated using "uk-UA-OstapNeural" through the third-party "edge-tts" Python library.

Could you please escalate this question to Microsoft's licensing or legal team?

I need to establish whether these existing recordings may be published in monetized educational YouTube videos, and whether any specific Microsoft license grants this right.

If this use is not permitted, please identify the applicable contractual restriction.

If Microsoft cannot provide such authorization, please confirm which official department or contact channel can issue a written licensing determination.

    Thank you.
