    When you are typing in the cell in Excel on an iPad, when you reach the spot where you want a new line of text in the cell, tap and hold that spot and you should see the New Line option on the popup menu.

    You - and I - call it a 'carriage return' because that's what we called it when we used a typewriter. The modern term is 'new paragraph'. So you would ask "how do I create a new paragraph inside a cell" ((;-)
