Hi dymario perry,
I understand how distracting it can be when music plays noticeably slower even though the playback control still shows 1.0x.
Since the AI response already covers the standard Windows audio and driver checks, could you clarify a few details so we can narrow down where the slowdown is occurring?
- Which application or website are you using to play the music?
- Does this happen with every song and with other audio, such as system sounds or online videos?
- Is only the timing slower, or does the audio also sound lower in pitch?
- Does the same issue occur through a different output device, such as wired headphones, Bluetooth headphones, or the computer’s built-in speakers?
- Did the behavior begin after a Windows update, audio driver update, or installation of another audio application?
As a quick comparison, please play the same audio file in a different application. If it plays normally there, the issue is likely limited to the original application rather than the Windows playback speed setting.
You can also run the Windows audio troubleshooter by opening Get Help, searching for audio troubleshooter, and following the diagnostic prompts.
Microsoft’s official audio troubleshooting guidance is available here: Fix sound or audio problems in Windows.
Please share the results of the comparison test, along with the name of the affected application and audio device. Thank you so much for your understanding.
