I am trying to fix permissions for my child. She is not linked to me in Microsoft family safety. 1. Does she need to use her outlook email to accept an invite? 2. I'm trying to add her in xbox family safety and the invite fails to send, also using her gmail account which is what she uses to play Minecraft.

I'm at a loss as to how to access her account and change her permissions.

    Hi @AL

Your child does not need an Outlook address. You should send the invitation to the email address associated with the Microsoft account she uses for Minecraft/Xbox. If she signs into Minecraft with Gmail, use that Gmail address rather than creating a separate account.

Sign in as the family organizer at Microsoft Family Safety, select Add a family member, choose Member, and enter that address. Your child must then open the invitation and sign in with the same Microsoft account to accept it.

If the invitation continues to fail, have her sign in at the Family Safety page and check whether her account is already connected to another family group. An account must be removed from its existing family group before it can join another one

    Hope this helps
