Please uninstall your Office apps.

Then install this slightly older version 16.114: https://res.public.onecdn.static.microsoft/mro1cdnstorage/C1297A47-86C4-4C1F-97FA-950631F94777/MacAutoupdate/Microsoft_365_and_Office_16.114.26101123_BusinessPro_Installer.pkg?atp=ets

After that, open any Office app, such as Word or Excel. From the top menu, select Help > Check for Updates. When Microsoft AutoUpdate opens, uncheck Automatically keep Microsoft apps up to date, then confirm by clicking Turn Off.

That should work.

    If you have a Microsoft 365 subscription, log in with the account used for the subscription at the link below:

    https://account.microsoft.com/services

    Check to see if you have any active subscriptions.

    If you have Office 2021 for Windows and Mac, please note that support ended on October 13, 2026. It no longer receives security updates. It is best to switch to a supported version such as Office 2024 & Microsoft 365.

    If you have Office 2021 on Mac and can't use it due to a license issue, even though you're sure you have an active license, other users have reported the same issue after updating to version 16.114.1.

    A workaround suggested is to uninstall the current Office apps and reinstall version 16.113.4, then sign in with the Microsoft account linked to your Office 2021 license. You can find the installer under October 6, 2026 here:

    Temporarily turn off automatic updates in Help > Check for Updates to prevent version 16.114.1 from reinstalling.
