When I use "Windows media player legacy", to download music CD's to my computer. The recordings along with information about the music. Like artist, name of the song are labeled. Unknown artist, unknown album name. The names of the songs are listed as: track 1, track 2, track 3...

This has happened the last 10 times I have used it. It had never happened before in the years I have used it. The CD,s are from respectable companies. Do you know what is causing this?

    Hi,

Microsoft has already discontinued its metadata service. This means the app can no longer fetch album details automatically when you rip a CD. You can check this thread to see other user's experience. One workaround shared by a user is to use another free app for CD ripping such as this one.

Disclaimer: This app's website is a non-Microsoft site. The information seems reliable, but be careful with ads. Research any product before downloading.

"Update music files by retrieving media info from the Internet." Was already enabled. Problem not solved
