A program that grants points for using Bing search, which users can redeem for gift cards, sweepstakes entries, or charitable donations.
Complete the redemption from the Microsoft Rewards website in a browser and use the Bing app only to scan the displayed QR code; redemption started inside the Bing app or performed entirely on mobile does not use the documented QR-verification flow.^1^
Retry the supported QR sequence
Your mobile-only and Bing-app redemption attempts do not replace this specific browser-to-app workflow:
- On the PC, open a web browser and sign in at the Microsoft Rewards website.
- Select the Roblox reward and begin redemption.
- When verification appears, select Verify with the Bing app.
- On the phone, open the Bing app under the same Microsoft account and scan the QR code displayed by the PC browser.
- Enter the resulting six-digit verification code and select Verify.
- Return to the original PC browser page and finish redemption.
QR verification applies when redemption is initiated in a web browser, verification is requested, and the reward is not configured for Auto-redeem. The QR option does not appear when redemption is initiated inside the Bing app.^1^
Since you already cleared browser data, used InPrivate mode, changed networks, and tried other device paths, do not repeat those steps. The remaining documented checks are:
- Update the PC browser and both devices’ operating systems.
- Disable any VPN or proxy if one is active.
- If third-party security software provides a web-filtering or HTTPS-inspection feature, pause only that feature for one controlled attempt. This temporarily reduces protection: do not browse elsewhere or download anything, and re-enable it immediately afterward.
If the exact “Switch account and rescan QR code” loop remains, no public self-service procedure is documented for clearing the server-side verification state.
Existing ticket and escalation limits
Microsoft Q&A moderators and community participants cannot inspect Rewards accounts, modify verification status, redeem the reward manually, access a ticket, or escalate it to a backend team. These cases require Microsoft Rewards Support because they involve private account information and backend service access.^2^
Because you already have a primary case and new submissions are being closed as duplicates:
- Do not keep creating new Rewards tickets unless Microsoft directs you to do so.
- Reply to the original case from the same Microsoft account and include:
- The exact message: “Switch account and rescan QR code.”
- The reward name and point cost.
- Approximate dates and times of recent failed attempts, including time zone.
- PC and phone operating systems, browser version, and Bing app version.
- Confirmation that redemption was initiated in a browser and the QR code was scanned through the Bing app.
- A screenshot showing the error, with email addresses, QR codes, order numbers, and other personal data obscured.
- A request for manual review of the QR-verification state, followed by either restoration of redemption access or a points refund if the reward cannot be fulfilled.
- Keep the complete ticket number private. Do not post it, verification codes, or account details in this public thread.
The supported Rewards route remains the Microsoft Rewards Support form. Microsoft’s QR-verification documentation directs unresolved cases there.^1^
You can also try Microsoft Support’s Contact us page while signed in and provide the existing case number.^3^ Treat this as a follow-up channel to ask where the existing case should be handled—not as a documented way to update or escalate a Rewards ticket.
A suitable message is:
My Microsoft Rewards redemption remains blocked by “Switch account and rescan QR code.” I followed the documented browser-to-Bing-app QR workflow using the same Microsoft account, but verification loops before redemption completes. Existing case [ticket number] has had no update since [date], and additional requests are closed as duplicates. Please review the QR-verification state on the account and either restore redemption access or refund the points if the reward cannot be fulfilled.
A refund is possible in some failed Roblox reward cases, but it is a support outcome rather than something a forum moderator can initiate.^4^
