How to fix roblox crashing

Hello, my when ever i run roblox it starts not responding and then crashing my moniter has a 144 hz and i set my roblox fps to 144 is there anythings i could do
Speccs:

CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
RAM - 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR4 @ 1599MHz (16-20-20-38)
Motherboard - Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. B550M PRO-VDH (MS-7C95) (AM4)

Graphics - 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB

Do you see any error messages as Roblox begins to crash? In other words, what behavior do you see when Roblox crashes?

Bassically like im just playing and like it just randomly or when ever i tab out of the game it just says not responding and then crashes ive deted and reinstall roblox deleted files and it still does idk if this helps.

Hi George,

Since reinstalling Roblox did not help, the next step is to check whether the crash is being triggered by the graphics/display path, especially since it can occur when Alt-Tabbing.

Please try these checks:

Temporarily cap Roblox at 60 FPS and test again. This helps determine whether the crash is related to the current 144 Hz/FPS configuration.
Disable overlays/background hooks temporarily, such as NVIDIA/GeForce Experience, Discord, Xbox Game Bar, MSI Afterburner, or similar apps, then test Roblox.
After the next crash, open Reliability Monitor (perfmon /rel) and select the Roblox failure. Check the Faulting application/module details.

If possible, share the Roblox failure details shown in Reliability Monitor. That should give us a more useful direction than repeating the reinstall.

Hope this helps narrow down what is triggering the crashes.

i do have discord but im on call with my friend ive turned of the hardware acceleration setting and it still did it heres the image from the reliability moniter

and what you said didnt work and i also have my graphics set to the lowest

Hi George,

Those screenshots confirm Roblox is repeatedly becoming unresponsive, although Reliability Monitor isn't showing what component is triggering it.

You can keep Discord open for now. Please try this next:

Press Win + R and enter eventvwr.msc.

Open Windows Logs > Application.

Look for an error matching the time of one of the Roblox hangs.

Share the Event ID and error details, particularly any faulting module or exception code listed.

That should give us better diagnostic information before changing anything else.

Thanks for testing all of this so far. Hopefully the next log gives us the missing clue.

Hi George,

Event ID 16394 / Security-SPP is an informational Windows Software Protection event, even though it happened at approximately the same time.

Please check Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Application again around the crash time and look specifically for an Error/Warning mentioning: RobloxPlayerBeta.exe or an Application Hang/Application Error.

If you find one, please post the General and Details tabs. That should give us a much better clue about why Roblox is becoming unresponsive.

Hi George,

Thank you for sharing the additional Event Viewer details.

The AppHangTransient event confirms that RobloxPlayerBeta.exe is becoming unresponsive rather than producing a normal application crash. However, the report shows the additional parameters as unknown and does not identify a specific faulting module or exception code. Because of that, there isn't enough evidence to say Discord or another particular application is causing the problem.

Since Discord hardware acceleration has already been disabled, you can leave Discord running for now.

As the next diagnostic step, I suggest testing Roblox in a clean boot environment. This temporarily disables non-Microsoft background services and startup programs and can help determine whether another application is interfering.

If Roblox still becomes unresponsive during the clean boot, please let us know. That would make a typical third-party background software conflict less likely and help narrow down the next troubleshooting path.

Hi, sorry for not responding earlier. The issue doesn't occur as often now, but it still happens occasionally—maybe once a day, or two to three times. It usually happens when I tab out of the game. Are there any additional Discord settings I should adjust, or BIOS configurations I need to check? If so, please let me know.

Hi George,

Thanks for the update. It is encouraging that the issue is happening less often. Since Roblox now seems to hang mainly when you Alt-Tab, I would test a couple of settings before changing anything in the BIOS.

For Discord:

Open Discord > User Settings > Game Overlay.

Temporarily disable the Game Overlay for Roblox.

Keep Hardware Acceleration disabled for now.

You can remain in your Discord call while testing.

I wouldn't change BIOS settings yet. The AppHangTransient report we found did not identify a hardware or BIOS-related fault, so changing CPU, RAM, voltage, or other BIOS settings would introduce additional variables without evidence that they are involved.

Also make sure the NVIDIA graphics driver is current, as Roblox recommends checking the graphics driver when investigating graphics-related crashes.

If disabling only the Discord overlay noticeably reduces or stops the Alt-Tab freezes, that gives us a useful clue without requiring you to stop using Discord.
