Installing or updating Microsoft Edge on Windows 11
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
Regardless of how proud you are with Edge, this is getting ridiculous. We have classroom computers that use Adobe Reader and was set to be default. After a recent update, Edge determined it could ignore the UserChoice lock that Windows puts in place so that other apps cant hijack defaults (go figure Windows will exploit their own security/settings). When edge takes over opening PDFs, it causes issues with filling out PDF form, using PDF Portfolios, and other features that EDGE is incapable of matching with Adobe. So, tell me, how you are going to stop forcing users, especially Enterprise domains, from reverting back to what Windows thinks is the best option for its users. All this proves is no one wants Edge, so Microsoft decides it needs to shove it down our throats more.
