Downloaded PSTools; psping.exe is not included in zip?

After downloading the pstools.zip and extracting, the psping.exe is not included. How do I get psping? That is really all I need right now but I've tried pulling down pstools more than once with the same result.

Download the standalone psping.zip package from the official Sysinternals Live directory instead of downloading the PsTools ZIP again.

Download and run PsPing

  1. Download psping.zip from Sysinternals Live. The official directory distributes PsPing as a separate ZIP package.^1^
  2. Extract the ZIP to a permanent folder, such as:
       C:\Tools\PsPing

  3. Open Command Prompt in that folder and verify it:
       cd /d C:\Tools\PsPing
       psping.exe -?

  4. Optionally add that folder to the Windows Path environment variable so psping can be run from any directory. PsPing requires no installer; Microsoft documents copying it onto an executable path and running psping directly.^2^

For example, to test whether a host accepts TCP connections on port 443:

psping.exe example.com:443

If psping.exe disappears after extraction

Security software may remove individual PsTools utilities. Check:

Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Protection history

Administrator privileges are required to review threat details. If an entry identifies psping.exe, expand it and review the detection. Choose Allow on device only if the archive came directly from Microsoft and the publisher/file is trusted; allowing a file carries risk. If Defender already removed it, allow it first and then download and extract the standalone package again.^3^
