Hi @dale simmons
I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. Based on your description, the fact that Teams audio output stopped working while video and microphone functionality continue to work, and audio works normally in other applications, suggests that the problem may be related to how Teams is routing audio rather than a general Windows sound issue.
Regarding the two sign-in options ("IT Department" and "Personal"), while I understand why this appears suspicious, it would be unusual for an account-related issue to affect only Teams audio output while leaving video, sign-in, and microphone functionality unaffected. The duplicate account prompt is often caused by the same email address being associated with both a Microsoft personal account and a Microsoft 365 work or school account.
To help narrow down the cause, could you please confirm the following:
- Are you using the Teams desktop app or Teams on the web?
- In Teams > Settings > Devices, what device is selected under Speaker?
- If you run a Test Call in Teams, do you hear:
- The ringtone?
- The test message playback?
- Neither of the above?
- Does the issue occur in both the Teams desktop app and Teams web app (https://teams.cloud.microsoft/)?
- Additionally, could you let me know your current Windows version and build number?
The results of the Teams test call and whether the issue also occurs in Teams on the web will help determine whether this is a Teams client issue, an audio device routing issue, or something related to the account configuration.
I look forward to your update.
