Request to transfer SC-200 certification from former employer account to personal Microsoft account

Hello Microsoft Certification Support Team,

My SC-200 (Microsoft Security Operations Analyst) certification is linked to a work account issued by my former employer. I have left the organization and no longer have access to that account, so I am unable to merge it into my Learn profile myself.

I would like to request a transfer or merge of this certification to my personal Microsoft account.

I can provide further verification, such as exam confirmation emails or Pearson VUE history, if required.

Could you please advise on the next steps to complete this transfer?

Thank you for your help.

Regards,
Saida

This is a community forum not support.

Unless you have access to the email account associated with the Learn profile, you will not be able to link another email account to the Learn profile and access your certifications. Learn profiles are self-managed; Microsoft cannot link or transfer them for you.

    Hello Microsoft Credentials Support,

I am unable to access the Microsoft Learn profile that contains my certification records.

The profile was associated with my former employer's work account, which has since been disabled. I no longer have access to that account and therefore cannot sign in to view or manage the certification profile.

I am requesting assistance in reviewing the status of this inaccessible Learn profile and determining whether my certification records can be associated with my current accessible Learn account.

    Certification:

Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200)

Approximate Exam Date: 20 December 2025

    Thank you.

Microsoft cannot recover an inaccessible former-employer account or transfer the Learn profile when no valid login remains, so ask the former employer’s IT administrator to temporarily restore access and then add your personal Microsoft account to the existing Learn profile.^1^

If your former employer restores access

    1. Sign in to Microsoft Learn with the former work account.
    2. Select your profile icon → Settings.
    3. Under Account Management, select Add login account.
    4. Sign in with the personal Microsoft account you intend to retain.
    5. If that personal account already has a separate Learn profile, adding it triggers a profile merge. The merge combines credentials, transcripts, and learning progress and cannot be undone.^2^
    6. Sign out, sign back in with the personal account, and verify that Profile → Credentials → Certifications displays the SC-200 certification.

Only one personal Microsoft account can be attached to a Learn profile, so use the personal account you plan to keep permanently. A profile can also have up to five work or school login accounts.^3^

    If access cannot be restored

Submit a Credentials Support request, but describe it as an inaccessible Learn profile, not as a routine merge. Microsoft’s documentation states that Credentials Support cannot recover work or school accounts; account-access restoration must be handled by the former organization’s IT administrator.^1^

    1. Open Credentials support and select online support request.^4^
    2. Choose:
      • Product family: Learning
      • Product or Service: Microsoft Credentials
      • Type of Support: Professional No Charge
      • Preferred contact method: Email
    3. Include:
      • Your personal account’s Learn username, if one exists.
      • The former employer email address.
      • Certification name: Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200).
      • Approximate exam date.
      • A statement that the former organization has disabled the only login attached to the credential profile.
      • Exam confirmation or Pearson VUE history as supporting evidence.
      • Any previous Learn username or profile URL you retained.
    4. Do not post email addresses, candidate IDs, or exam records publicly; provide them only through the private support case.

Support can review the exact profile state, but exam emails or Pearson VUE history should not be treated as a substitute for a valid Learn login. Do not delete your personal Learn profile while the case is under review.
