Processes in Microsoft 365 for setting up Office apps, redeeming product keys, and activating licenses.
Hi Nicky,
Thank you for reaching out.
CCleaner may have removed or affected files used by Office licensing, which could explain why the Activation Wizard appeared unexpectedly.
To resolve the issue, please try the following steps:
- Check the account signed in to Office
- Open Word and go to File > Account.
- Check the account shown under User Information.
- Make sure it is the same Microsoft account that was used to purchase or redeem the Office product key.
- If it is not the correct account, sign out and sign back in with the correct one.
- Try entering the product key again
- Under Product Information, look for Switch License.
- Select Use a different account, and then select Enter product key instead.
- Enter your valid Office 2019 product key, and then select Install this product instead.
- Check for multiple Office installations
- Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Check whether another version of Office or Microsoft 365 is installed.
- Multiple Office installations can sometimes cause licensing and activation conflicts.
- Repair Office
- Close all Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Find Microsoft Office 2019 and select Modify.
- Choose Online Repair and follow the prompts.
- Restart your computer after the repair, then reopen Word and check the activation status.
- Confirm how Office was obtained
- If Office was provided by your employer or another organization, contact its IT administrator to confirm how the license should be activated.
- Office 2019 Professional Plus may use different activation methods, so the correct process depends on how the license was issued.
- If you purchased Office personally, confirm where it was purchased and contact the seller and to see whether the key had already been redeemed.
I hope your issue gets resolved soon. Any updates would be greatly appreciated.
