Microsoft Ignite is not a replacement for Publisher. In the provided context, Microsoft Ignite appears only as the name of a Microsoft event tied to a past free certification exam offer. It is not described as a publishing or document-design app.

Publisher is being retired after October 2026.

    For Publisher 2021 specifically:

    • Publisher is included in Office Professional 2021.
    • Publisher 2021 is a perpetual version, so it can still be installed and used beyond October 2026.
    • Support for the perpetual version of Publisher ends on October 13, 2026.
    • After support ends, it may continue to run, but it will no longer receive support.

If the goal is to replace Publisher workflows, Microsoft recommends other Microsoft 365 apps for common scenarios instead of a direct Publisher replacement:

    • Newsletters: Word
    • Brochures, flyers, ads, business cards, calendars: Word or PowerPoint
    • Banners, signs, posters: PowerPoint
    • Envelopes, labels, letterhead, programs: Word

If there are existing .pub files, Microsoft recommends converting them to PDF or Word before support ends. A file search for .pub on a PC, OneDrive, or SharePoint can help locate them.
