We are experiencing an issue on at least one of the resource-groups on our subscription Platform-Subscription, with 0 max quota a100 gpu cards.

Up to now we are operating on the premise that we organize each new client on a separate resource group, which will have 2 a100 gpu cards.

First of all, We want the issue on this resource group to be fixed. Second of all, we want to know if there is any issue with out understanding, based on which there should be no resource group without the 2 associated gpu a100 cards.

I think creating another RG won't help here. The A100 quota is tied to the Container Apps environment, not the resource group. For fragoucadastre-apps-rg, find the environment hosting the app. Under Settings > Quota, request a new limit of 2 for Managed Environment Consumption NCA100 GPUs. Serverless A100 also requires a workload profiles environment.

If multiple clients share an environment, they share its GPU quota. A limit of 2 doesn't reserve two GPUs per client. If the request fails, include the environment resource ID and exact error in a Container Apps support request.

Request a Managed Environment Consumption NCA100 GPUs limit of 2 from the Container Apps environment in fragoucadastre-apps-rg; creating a resource group does not automatically allocate two A100 GPUs.

    Request the quota increase

Italy North supports A100 serverless GPUs, so the region itself is eligible.^1^

    1. In the Azure portal, open the Azure Container Apps environment located in fragoucadastre-apps-rg.
    2. Select Settings > Quota.
    3. Select Managed Environment Consumption NCA100 GPUs.
    4. Enter 2 under New limit.
    5. Select Submit.

The request might be approved automatically or routed to Azure Support for review.^2^

To verify the environment’s current quota from Azure CLI:

    az containerapp env list-usages \
      --resource-group fragoucadastre-apps-rg \
      --name <CONTAINER_APPS_ENVIRONMENT_NAME>

This reports quota usage per Container Apps environment.^3^

    Correct quota model

The expected allocation is not two A100 GPUs per resource group. A resource group is only a management container and is not the scope of this quota.

For Azure Container Apps, the relevant scopes are:

    • Managed Environment Consumption NCA100 GPUs — the maximum number of serverless consumption A100 GPUs available within one Container Apps managed environment.
    • Subscription NCA 100 GPUs — a separate subscription-and-region limit for dedicated A100 GPUs used by environments across that region.^3^

    Therefore:

    • If each client has its own Container Apps environment, request a consumption NCA100 limit of 2 separately on every environment.
    • If several client resource groups point to or organize resources around the same environment, they do not receive separate GPU allocations merely because they are separate resource groups.
    • Increasing the subscription-region Subscription NCA 100 GPUs quota does not replace the per-environment Managed Environment Consumption NCA100 GPUs request; they cover dedicated and serverless-consumption GPU models respectively.
    • Enterprise Agreement and pay-as-you-go subscriptions have A100 and T4 access enabled by default, but the environment still needs sufficient managed-environment quota before it can use the GPUs.^1^

If the quota entry is missing

Serverless GPUs require a workload profiles environment; a Consumption-only environment does not support them.^1^

If Managed Environment Consumption NCA100 GPUs does not appear under Settings > Quota:

    1. Check the environment type in the Container Apps environment overview.
    2. If it is Consumption-only, create a workload profiles environment in Italy North.
    3. Open that new environment’s Settings > Quota page and submit the NCA100 request there.

If the entry exists but the request is rejected or remains pending, let the quota workflow route it to Azure Support. Include the required limit (2), region (Italy North), target managed environment, expected number of client environments, and workload/business justification. Approval can depend on available regional compute capacity.^4^
