I am experiencing an account-specific issue with the Copilot file picker. When I attempt to browse OneDrive files from within Copilot, the file picker loads but displays an "unauthenticated" error and no files are shown. I have confirmed that the issue is not related to the device, browser, or Copilot application because the exact same environment works correctly when I sign in with a different Microsoft account. Additionally, my affected account functions normally in OneDrive Web, OneDrive Desktop, and OneDrive Mobile, including file access and uploads. I have already performed extensive troubleshooting, including signing out and back in, clearing cache and cookies, using private browsing, resetting and reinstalling Copilot, testing multiple browsers and devices, and signing out of all Microsoft sessions. Since the problem follows only this specific Microsoft account across both Copilot Web and the Copilot App while all other OneDrive services continue to function normally, the issue appears to be related to the Copilot-to-OneDrive authentication, authorization, or account provisioning configuration on the backend.

Same issue here (personal Microsoft account, macOS).

Details that may help:

Copilot web → "+ → Attach cloud files" opens the OneDrive picker. The "Shared" tab lists folders, but "My files" and "Recent" show "Something went wrong … unauthenticated".
OneDrive on onedrive.live.com works normally with the same account.
Console shows GraphError: User migrated, a 404 on .../drives/<id>/items/root, and a 401 "Must be authenticated to use '/drive' syntax" on api.onedrive.com/v1.0/drive.
Reproduces in Safari (also private window) and Chrome. Removing cached sign-ins on the Mac and signing in again made no difference.
Started around mid-October 2026; still failing today (Oct 25).

Looks like a server-side token/provisioning problem between Copilot and OneDrive, not a browser or local issue.

When I first select "Attach cloud files" using the "+" button within the chat window, I can see my OneDrive files now. I can then proceed to browse my cloud drive and attach cloud files. So some good news there.

However, when I search or use my "history" or anything else within the OneDrive connector pop-up it still says the same thing "unauthenticated" and no files are actually useable.

Plus when I try to go back to searching my OneDrive, or history, after using other buttons on the left it states that "nothing exists or is no longer available". And the Gallery button leads to another "Couldn't complete that action. Please try again." error. So the whole connnector is malfunctioning, aside from the singular and first pop-up screen that displays my cloud drive files.

I think I might find the connection point here. Did you get this issue after an update of the apps? The update brings a whole large system update to the apps. So some history and function is still syncing. That being said, you still should submit the issue to the Feedback option on the app so the engineering team can notice.

I have not personally gone out of my way to update or use any of the apps, per se, as I use PWA's.

I generally do not use the Copilot 365 / Copilot windows app from the windows store and tend to use a PWA from the Microsoft Edge browser, since can create multiple Copilot chat instances running at the same time that way, which you cannot do with the windows store version.

You could still be right either way potentially, but I am not sure that fully explains it either given that I open the Copilot app for windows, and it has the same issues, on top of the fact that the "native" windows store Copilot app is essentially just a web-based component shell app now again instead of a true native app. That makes it basically identical to a PWA browser built web "app". At least that's my understanding.

I am having the same issue for about a week or two now at very least. The file picker "OneDrive" integration seems to be malfunctioning. I also get a message asking me to Authenticate, which I do, but the file picker and Edge based PWA Copilot 'app' still says "unauthenticated" all the time, and I cannot use the file system or my onedrive with copilot anymore. Hi Carl, thanks for getting back to me about this ongoing issue.

I checked my Microsoft account, Copilot/Copilot 365 accounts, AND this websites accounts, and I cannot find anything that has "Profile > Connectors > OneDrive > Connect".

So I am not sure where you are directing me to check for that, but I am more than happy to check. I just need to know where.

As I mentioned, I have gone into the settings and every menu I have been able access in every app and website from microsoft, and there is no "Profile > Connectors > OneDrive > Connect". In other words, there is no section Profile, and there is no "connectors" under any profile in any microsoft saas or services that I can access. That is why I requested you literally direct me EXACTLY to where you are meaning. What app, what website, what links, what menu's etc. Because there is NO SUCH THING called "Profile" inside Copilot or Copilot M365 anywhere that I can find.

I have this issue also, any updates. there are no Use connectors in the chat + option. In data sources OneDrive not showing - Google is eg.
