After successfully deleting an Azure Synapse Analytics workspace, the workspace name remains reserved.

Can't rerun ARM bicep deployment.

How can I "cleanup" the Synapse workspace. It seems to be deleted but it is blocking for new deployment with the name synw-d365-sp-dev.

CLI:

az synapse workspace check-name --name synw-d365-sp-dev

Response:

{

"available": false,

"message": "Workspace name synw-d365-sp-dev is not available",

"name": "synw-d365-sp-dev",

"reason": "AlreadyExists"

}

    I think AlreadyExists alone doesn't show whether the original workspace still exists. Synapse CLI has no command to release the name. If u need synw-d365-sp-dev, open an Azure support request for Synapse with the original resource ID, deletion time (UTC) and check-name output. Technical support requires a support plan. Otherwise, use another globally unique name in Bicep and update its references.
