AADSTS5000224 – Azure Free Trial suspended and tenant deauthenticated – Unable to contact Azure Support

Hello Microsoft Support Team,

I need assistance recovering access to my Azure subscription and Microsoft Entra tenant.

I recently created an Azure Free Trial subscription and configured Azure AI Speech (Text-to-Speech) for a legitimate SaaS application.

I received an email stating that my Azure subscription had been disabled due to suspicious activity and an alleged violation of Microsoft's Acceptable Use Policy.

Shortly afterward, I lost access to the Azure Portal with the following error:

Error code: AADSTS5000224

Error message: The tenant 'Default Directory' has been deauthenticated and is no longer available.

Tenant ID: c3686a34-1b80-4441-95b5-325e0b6265eb

I can still sign in to my personal Microsoft account at account.microsoft.com, but I cannot access portal.azure.com or create a support ticket because the authentication process fails.

I have also tried using an incognito browser window, without success.

The subscription is new, and Azure AI Speech is the only Azure service I configured.

Could a Microsoft moderator please help escalate this issue to the Entra ID engineering and Azure subscription security teams?

I can provide my subscription ID, account email address, screenshots, and any required ownership verification through a private message.

I would appreciate assistance with both restoring tenant authentication and reviewing the subscription suspension.

Thank you.

I also am an enrolled student and even got the Sheer Verified email, but every time I try to get the offer, I am denied. I contacted support yesterday and they were very fast and helpful. They even emailed me personally after the chat and told me they are telling their higher ups about my issue and then they sent ANOTHER email saying that the higher up's instructions were to just take a screenshot recording of me trying to get the offer and it refusing me and to send the video to them and that's all it would take for them to reset it so I can try again, successfully this time. 10 star review.

    Thank you for the guidance.

Unfortunately, Microsoft phone support in Peru is currently closed.

Since my Azure tenant is deauthenticated (AADSTS5000224), I cannot access the Azure Portal or create a support request.

Could a Microsoft moderator or support engineer please assist me with opening a support case or escalating this issue internally?

My Azure Free Trial was also suspended due to alleged suspicious activity, although I was only using Azure AI Speech for legitimate Text-to-Speech functionality.

I am available to provide all required tenant ownership and verification details through a private channel.

    Thank you for your assistance.

AADSTS5000224 requires Microsoft to review and re-enable the tenant from the backend; because tenant authentication prevents portal access, contact Microsoft by phone or open the case through another active tenant rather than retrying browser-based troubleshooting.^1^

    1. Open a support case without the locked tenant

Use Microsoft’s global customer-support directory, select your country or region, and call the listed number.^2^

    Tell the agent:

My Microsoft Entra home tenant returns AADSTS5000224 and is deauthenticated. I cannot enter the Azure portal or create a portal support request. The associated Azure Free Trial was suspended following a suspicious-activity/AUP notification. Please open a case for backend tenant-authentication review and Azure subscription suspension review.

    Ask for:

    1. A support case number.
    2. Routing to the team handling Microsoft Entra tenant deauthentication.
    3. A linked review of the Azure subscription security suspension.
    4. A secure channel for ownership evidence—do not post account or subscription identifiers publicly.

AADSTS5000224 cases with the same tenant lockout have required engineering intervention, and reactivation has been possible after that review.^3^

    2. If phone support cannot create the case

If another active organizational tenant is available, sign in through that tenant and create the request there, clearly identifying the inaccessible tenant as the affected tenant.

If no other tenant is available, the accepted AADSTS5000224 guidance gives this fallback:

    1. Create a temporary Microsoft 365 trial tenant.
    2. Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center with its temporary Global Administrator.
    3. Select Help & Support → Create a support request.
    4. State that the request concerns a different, inaccessible Azure/Entra tenant.
    5. After the case is established, cancel/delete the trial as appropriate to avoid renewal or charges.^1^

Creating the temporary tenant does not restore the original tenant; it only provides an authenticated route to support.

    3. Provide the right evidence privately

Prepare the following for the support case:

    • Tenant ID and primary onmicrosoft.com domain
    • Azure subscription ID
    • Administrator sign-in name
    • Exact AADSTS5000224 message
    • Timestamp, request ID, correlation ID, and trace ID from the error page
    • Suspension email, including its date and case/reference number
    • Approximate subscription creation date
    • Billing/account ownership evidence requested by support
    • Brief workload description: Azure AI Speech/Text-to-Speech for the SaaS application
    • Relevant usage pattern immediately before suspension, without exposing API keys or tokens

Do not publish these details in the Q&A thread. A forum moderator may request limited information privately, but Q&A itself is a public user-to-user forum and is not a substitute for a support case.^1^

    4. Keep the two recovery actions separate

Tenant authentication: The AADSTS5000224 lockout prevents self-service administration and needs backend review.

Subscription suspension: Restoring tenant authentication does not necessarily restore the Azure subscription. Azure documents several ordinary disablement states—expired trial credit, spending limit, past-due billing, or cancellation—but your reported suspicious-activity/AUP notice requires support to determine the applicable status rather than assuming it is a normal free-trial credit disablement.^4^

    Once access is restored:

    1. Go to Azure portal → Subscriptions → affected subscription.
    2. Check its status and any displayed suspension reason.
    3. Follow the existing support case for the security/AUP decision.
    4. After reactivation, allow up to 30 minutes for resource-management operations to recover; if delays exceed that, contact Azure Billing Support.^4^
    5. Verify the Speech resource and rotate its keys if support indicates possible compromise.

Avoid opening duplicate cases after receiving a case number; add evidence and request status updates on the original case instead.
