Globally unique resources that provide access to data management services and serve as the parent namespace for the services.
The portal blade is probably just not showing it. Storage task assignments are a sub-resource of the storage account, and you can see and remove them directly with the Azure CLI, which doesn't depend on that blade.
- Open Cloud Shell (or a local CLI, version 2.75 or later) and list the assignments with
az storage account task-assignment list --resource-group <rg> --account-name <account>. The command comes from the storage-preview extension, which installs itself the first time you run it. - Note the
nameof the assignment in the output. It may point to a storage task that was deleted or lives in another resource group, which would explain why the portal list looks empty. - Before deleting, check whether that task is still doing something you need (for example tiering or cleanup). If it is, note its settings so you can recreate the assignment after the move.
- Delete it with
az storage account task-assignment delete --resource-group <rg> --account-name <account> --storage-task-assignment-name <name>. - Run the list command again to confirm it's empty, then retry the move to the new resource group.
- After the move, recreate the assignment if you need it.
If the list command also returns nothing while the move still fails, that points to a stale reference on the platform side, and a support case is the right next step.
What does the list command return for your account?
If this resolved your issue, please consider accepting it as the answer. If the CLI doesn't show the assignment either, let me know and I'll be happy to keep helping.
