Managing presence indicators such as Available, Busy, or Away to reflect user availability
Dear Joseph,
As a forum moderator, I am not able to access your account or delve into the backend systems to diagnose and fix this for you. My role here is limited to providing general guidance and solutions for users to implement themselves. When Teams shows you as busy for the whole workday, it usually means there's an item on your Outlook calendar for those days with its status set to Busy. It could be an all‑day event, an event that spans Thursday and Friday, a recurring item, or a meeting that was cancelled but never removed. These are easy to miss in the normal calendar view, so I suggest checking the following:
- In new Outlook or Outlook on the web, go to Calendar, check Thursday and look at the very top of the day for any all‑day or multi‑day events. Do the same for Friday.
- Open any item you find and right click to check the Show as setting. If it says Busy, change it to Free, or delete the item if you no longer need it.
Also check Settings > Calendar > Work hours and location
Confirm that Thursday and Friday are selected and that the start and end times and time zone are correct. Work hours influence how availability and suggested meeting times appear to coworkers, although work hours alone should not normally create a solid Busy block.
Also check:
Settings > Calendar > View > Time zones
A mismatched time zone can shift appointments into the 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM period.
I hope this helps. Looking forward to your reply.
