    Hi @Minh Thu Phan Nguyen

Thank you for posting. I’m a fellow community user, so I can’t access or check your computer directly. The post doesn’t yet have enough information to identify the cause, so could you please share the following?

    1. What exactly do you mean by “cannot access PowerPoint”? Does PowerPoint not open at all, open but not let you edit or save, not let you sign in, or show an error message? If there is an error message, please share a screenshot (with personal information removed) or copy the exact text.
    2. Are you using a school (Education) account or a personal account? Is the computer your personal device or managed by your school?
    3. In PowerPoint, what does File > Account show (for example, activated, or a message such as Unlicensed Product or reduced functionality), and which account is signed in?
    4. What are your Windows and Office versions (File > Account > About PowerPoint)?
    5. Do Word and Excel have a similar problem? Does it happen with every PowerPoint file or only one? If you sign in to office.com with the same account, can you open PowerPoint on the web?
    6. When did the problem start, and was there any change before that (an update, a password change, moving to a different class or school)?
    7. Have you tried repairing Office, and what was the result?

Once I have this information, I or others in the community will be able to guide you more accurately.

Because the Office repair could not finish, completely remove Microsoft 365 with Microsoft’s uninstall troubleshooter, restart Windows, and reinstall it using the school account associated with the license.

    Cleanly reinstall Microsoft 365

Uninstalling Microsoft 365 removes the applications but does not delete presentations or other documents you created.^1^

    1. Save your work and close every Office application.
    2. Open Microsoft’s uninstall instructions and select the uninstall troubleshooter.^1^
    3. If prompted that the site wants to open Get Help, select Open.
    4. Follow the prompts to remove Microsoft 365, then restart the computer.
    5. Go to the Microsoft 365 Apps page and sign in with the work or school account assigned your education license.
    6. Select Install apps > Microsoft 365 apps.
    7. Run the downloaded installer and wait for “You’re all set! Office is installed now.”
    8. Start PowerPoint and complete activation if prompted.^2^

The uninstall troubleshooter requires Windows 10 or later and currently cannot remove Office 2024. For Office 2024, use Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features, select the Office suite, and choose Uninstall instead.^1^

If you want to test for an add-in before reinstalling

PowerPoint Safe Mode starts the program without normal add-ins:

    1. Press Windows key + R.
    2. Enter:
         powerpnt /safe

    3. Select OK.
    4. If PowerPoint remains open, go to File > Options > Add-ins.
    5. At the bottom, select COM Add-ins under Manage, then select Go.
    6. Clear every add-in checkbox and restart PowerPoint normally.
    7. Re-enable add-ins individually, restarting PowerPoint each time, to identify the conflicting one.^3^

If PowerPoint also closes or freezes in Safe Mode, proceed with the clean reinstall above rather than trying the failed repair again.

If PowerPoint still fails after reinstallation

    • Install the latest Office updates from another working Office application through File > Account > Update Options > Update Now.
    • Temporarily change the default printer through Control Panel > Hardware and Sound to Microsoft XPS Document Writer or Send to OneNote, then test PowerPoint.
    • If other programs or background services may be interfering, test Windows with a selective startup. If that does not resolve it, contact Microsoft Support or your school’s Microsoft 365 administrator.^3^

When escalating, provide the Windows version, Office version, whether Safe Mode worked, and any exact error shown during uninstalling, reinstalling, or activation.
