Teams Channel Calendar Meetings Not Showing Up on Personal Calender

My team and I have added a shared calendar app within a shared teams channel we have created for the main purpose of using as a calendar for vacation, PTO, etc. When a member of the team, including myself, adds a new meeting for vacation without adding any invitees to the calendar event, other members receive an email invite and the meeting then shows up on their personal emails as well. However, I am the only one who does not get an invite or the meeting showing up on my personal email.

Dear @Swanson, Cole,

I hope you’re having a good day

Thank you for the detailed description.

Based on what you've described, the behavior does seem unusual. If other members are receiving the email invitation and seeing the event appear on their personal calendars, but your account is the only one that is not, that points more toward an account-specific issue than a general problem with the shared calendar.

A few things would be helpful to clarify:

  1. Which calendar app has been added to the channel? (For example, a Channel Calendar, SharePoint calendar, Microsoft Lists calendar, or another calendar application.)
  2. Can you see the event in the shared calendar itself, even though it does not appear on your personal calendar?
  3. Does this happen regardless of who creates the event, or only when certain members create it?
  4. Are you a channel owner or a member?
  5. Are all users part of the same Microsoft 365 tenant, or are any of them guests?

As a few initial checks, I would recommend:

  • Confirming that your Teams membership and channel membership match the other users who are receiving the invitations.
  • Comparing your notification and calendar settings with another team member who is receiving the invitations as expected.
  • Testing with a newly created calendar event to see whether the behavior is consistent or limited to existing events.

One detail that stands out is that events created without explicitly adding invitees would not normally be expected to behave like traditional meeting invitations. Understanding which calendar application is being used will help determine whether the emails are expected behavior and why your account is being treated differently from the rest of the team.

With that additional information, it should be possible to narrow down whether this is related to permissions, membership, calendar synchronization, or the specific calendar app being used.

Please understand that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.

Looking forward to hearing back from you with any updates or additional details.

Warm regards,
