7. If shown Try, Buy, or Activate Office, select Activate Office. Microsoft documents this as the first activation prompt for Office supplied with a new PC.^1^
8. Complete the sign-in and licence-agreement prompts, then open Word → File → Account. Under Product Information, the expected result is an activated Office Home 2024 product.

Some Office products preinstalled on Windows devices activate without a product key. If the Store shows the bundled product but Office is missing or damaged, Microsoft’s Store recovery path is Microsoft Store → Library → Apps/All, disable Show installed products only, find Office, and select its cloud button.^2^

The documented “Claim Office Home and Business 2024” notification, free ¥0 order, product-key redemption, and 90-day claim period apply only to certain PCs sold in Japan with a specific Microsoft 365 Personal trial offer. They do not establish the redemption procedure for an Office Home 2024 OEM bundle on this ASUS model.^4^

Do not purchase Microsoft 365 or a retail Office licence, and do not use an unrelated product key.

3. If the offer is missing, contact ASUS or the retailer first

Because Office Home 2024 is not currently attached to the Microsoft account, uninstalling or repairing Office cannot create the missing entitlement. If Microsoft Store → Library → Included with device does not show Office Home 2024—or shows it but provides no working claim action—contact ASUS support or the seller and request verification of the OEM Office entitlement for the exact serial number.

Provide:

• Purchase invoice and date
• Laptop model and serial number
• Photograph of the box label stating “Microsoft Office Home 2024 – Classic apps included on this PC”
• Screenshot of Microsoft Store → Library / Included with device
• Screenshot of Word → File → Account
• Screenshot showing that no Office product is attached to the account

Ask ASUS to confirm:

1. Whether this exact serial number was provisioned with Office Home 2024.
2. Whether the offer is restricted by sales region or requires the original factory image.
3. Whether the retailer supplied the correct SKU.
4. Whether ASUS must restore or re-provision the device entitlement.

A similar ASUS bundled-Office case recommends contacting ASUS with the serial number and receipt when the licence is absent from the Microsoft account.^5^

4. If Store shows the entitlement but claiming fails

That condition points to a Microsoft claim/activation problem rather than proof that the bundle is absent. Contact Microsoft Support and provide the screenshots above, emphasizing that Microsoft Store shows “included with device,” but redemption does not attach Office Home 2024 to the account.

Only after the entitlement appears in the account should installation troubleshooting be used. Microsoft notes that an incorrect account or multiple Office installations can cause activation failures.^6^ If multiple Office editions are actually listed under Settings → Apps → Installed apps, remove the obsolete edition, restart, and reinstall the entitled Office 2024 edition. Do not uninstall the sole preinstalled copy while the entitlement remains missing unless ASUS or Microsoft directs that action.

The System Center Service Manager tag is unrelated to consumer Office activation and should be replaced with an Office/activation tag if the question remains on Microsoft Q&A.
