Configure the Logitech camera from Teams and turn off Automatically adjust camera controls, because Microsoft does not document that pan-and-zoom changes made in Windows Manage cameras will persist when the Teams desktop client starts using the device.
Set the framing in Teams
- Open the Teams desktop app.
- Select Settings and more (…) beside your profile picture.
- Go to Settings > Devices.
- Under Video settings:
- Select the external Logitech device from the Camera list.
- Turn off Automatically adjust camera controls.
- Select Open camera settings, if that option appears.
- Set the desired pan and zoom, then verify the result in the video preview.
- Join the meeting from the pre-join screen and confirm the same Logitech camera remains selected.
Teams officially provides the camera selector, automatic camera-control option, camera settings, and preview in this location.^1^
If Open camera settings does not expose pan or zoom, Teams is not receiving those controls from that camera/driver combination. Microsoft’s desktop documentation does not promise that Logitech-specific PTZ positions configured through Windows or vendor software will persist between Teams meetings.^2^
If the view still resets
- Confirm that Automatically adjust camera controls remains off after restarting Teams.
- Close Logitech Tune, the Windows Camera app, browsers, and other conferencing applications before starting Teams. Another application accessing the camera can interfere with app-specific camera behavior.^3^
- Check Logitech’s documentation for the exact camera model to determine whether it supports an onboard saved preset or persistent default framing. Persistence controlled by Logitech software or camera firmware is model-specific and is not documented as a general Teams desktop feature.
- If no onboard preset exists and Teams resets the framing, the practical workaround is to open Teams > Settings > Devices > Video settings > Open camera settings and reapply it before joining.
The Teams Rooms PTZ documentation should not be applied to a normal Teams desktop meeting. It covers dedicated Teams Rooms on Windows systems, where supported local PTZ behavior depends on the camera, firmware, Teams Rooms version, and the control method exposed to Teams.^4^
If further investigation is needed, provide the Logitech model, Windows version, Teams version, and whether Open camera settings appears inside Teams; those details determine whether an in-app control path or a Logitech firmware/preset path is available.
