unable to update windows

I have been trying for quite some time to update windows, but the update windows 10-version 1803 keeps failing and I am getting very frustrated. this needs to be update in order to get the most up to date version. Please help

    Good afternoon, @Stacy Ray . Version 1803 is quite old and does not support direct updates to newer versions via Windows Update. In this case, you must back up your data and perform a clean install of Windows 10.:**Preparing the installation environment.

    1.Data backup required.

    2.8Gb or higher USB stick. ATTENTION: Use a blank USB stick, all content will be deleted, so save the content before the procedures.

    3."MCT" Media Creation Tool: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=2265055

    4. In the tool, click on "Create media for installation on another computer"

    5.REQUIRED: Uncheck the "Use recommended options for this PC" option

    6.Select "English – United States -> Windows 10

    ATTENTION:

    1.Disconnect all hardware connected to the USB ports except for the keyboard and mouse.

    2.Keep the computer connected to the mains, do not do this procedure only with the battery

    3.Setup requires a Microsoft account and internet access

    Installation process.

    1. Boot from the newly created pendrive (Change in BIOS by pressing F2, Del and etc - Advanced Options -> Boot)

    2. Format the SSD/HDD and start the installation.

    3. REQUIRED: When Setup prompts you for your product key, click "I don't have your product key"

    4.The latest build of Windows 10 will be installed and activation will be automatic.
