Usage Limit for Copilot

I do not have a Microsoft 365 subscription. I use Copilot with my personal Microsoft account. I recently began receiving messages that I had reached my usage limit and should upgrade or wait. This had never happened before. I would like to know whether there has been a change to my Copilot access or whether there is a problem with my account.

I'm also getting this same message on my tablet. It's a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10 Lite.

    Hello Indy Hamilton,

I understand your concern. Here is the full link of the one I sent you earlier: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365-copilot/learning/changes-microsoft-copilot-app. As you can see, this is an official Microsoft link. While much information is still not yet release, what I can tell you first is that the limitation goes with the account, not the devices. You can find more details of the changes in the link, which as I said earlier, is an official article from Microsoft. If you still have doubts, you can copy and paste the link address instead of clicking on it.

Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions.

    Dear Sirs:

Your little message was quite the slap in the face. Since I don't trust links taking me from websites, I've got some questions that I hope will put this issue to bed once and for all. They go as follows:

    1. Are the new limits based on my Microsoft account or on each device?
    2. How many chats or prompts are free users allowed before reaching the limit?
    3. When does the limit reset?
    4. Is the limit a daily limit, an hourly limit, or based on server capacity?
    5. Does signing in with a Microsoft 365 subscription remove these limits, or just increase them?
    6. Where can I find the official documentation describing these changes?

    Hello Indy Hamilton,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

That actually match the new update from Copilot. Users can still chat, upload and generate image for free, however, it is now subject to limits and capacity. You can find the article of the update here.

    I hope this clarifies.
