Sign in to Microsoft Learn with your personal Microsoft account, add the Cognizant work account under Settings → Account Management, and complete the prompted Learn-profile merge.
Merge the Learn profiles
- Sign out of all Microsoft accounts, then sign in to Microsoft Learn using the personal Microsoft account you want to retain.
- Select your profile icon in the upper-right corner.
- Select Settings.
- Under Account Management, select Add Login account.
- Sign in with your Cognizant work or school account.
- Because that account is already associated with another Learn profile, Microsoft Learn should prompt you to merge the profiles.
- Review and complete the merge.
The merge combines credentials, transcripts, and learning progress into one Learn profile. Both login accounts remain usable, but the profile merge cannot be undone.^1^
This merges Microsoft Learn profile data, not the underlying personal and organizational Microsoft accounts. Personal and work/school sign-in accounts cannot themselves be combined.^2^
After merging:
- Open a private/InPrivate browser window.
- Sign in using only your personal Microsoft account.
- Open Profile → Credentials → Certifications.
- Confirm that the certification and exam history appear.
Microsoft Learn permits one personal login account and up to five work/school login accounts on a profile. Keeping the personal account attached ensures continued access if employment changes.^3^
Retrieve the score report
Microsoft does not necessarily send the score report as an email attachment. For a Pearson VUE exam:
- Sign in to Learn with the personal account now attached to the merged profile.
- Open Profile → Credentials → Certifications.
- Scroll to Past exams.
- Locate the exam and select View details on provider site.
- On the Pearson VUE dashboard, select View for the score report.^4^
The email address receiving exam messages can be the profile’s Contact Email, which is not necessarily the account that owns or signs in to the Learn profile. Receiving registration messages at the personal address therefore does not by itself establish which Learn profile contains the exam.^5^
If the merge is unavailable or the credential remains missing
Submit a secure request to Microsoft Credentials Support rather than posting account identifiers in this public Q&A thread:
- Open the Credentials Support page.
- Select online support request.
- Confirm:
- Product family: Learning
- Product or Service: Microsoft Credentials
- Type of Support: Professional No Charge
- Preferred contact method: Email
- Describe that the passed exam appears under the work-linked Learn profile and remains missing from the personal profile after the merge.
- Include:
- Personal and work Learn Usernames
- Exam name and date
- Exam registration or appointment details
- Screenshots showing the credential location or missing credential
Credentials Support is provided by email, so a private message cannot be initiated from this Q&A post.^6^
MCID has been retired as the Learn profile identifier; support currently asks for the Learn Username, found under Learn profile → Settings → Personal info, username, and URL.^3^ Do not publish either account identifier, exam registration number, or other private details here.
