My teams profile (personal account)seems like deactivated .I tried editing my name but still it seems the same. It would be great if someone could help me go solve this.

Can you launch your web browser in incognito mode, then see if you can sign into https://account.live.com?
If you can, then in the same incognito mode, can you see if you can sign into https://teams.microsoft.com/v2?
Please confirm those results first so we can determine what might be wrong and what you can do next.

Are you saying you could log into https://teams.microsoft.com/v2 too? But you cannot log in on the app, is that right?
Browser version seems like not supporting, but I can login via app but my account name still stays as “ deactivated account “
Do you have access to a computer? I still need to test it on the browser version, to see if this is account issue on Teams, or App issue.

Ok, can you do me a favor.
Go back to https://account.live.com
Go to Your info > Sign in preference.
Add a new alias, and choose the create new option, set up an outlook.com alias.
Then make it primary.
Then relaunch the web browser in incognito mode again. See if you can now log into https://teams.microsoft.com/v2

You did it correctly. So this is not an app issue for sure.

Do you have another Microsoft account you can use?
If so, launch incognito mode, go to https://teams.microsoft.com/v2 and see if it works. This will help confirm if it is JUST your account, or it might be network environment issue.

Ok, so it is account specific.
Can you go back to your old account?
Review your info, and make sure country, language are correctly set up, reflecting where you live.
Then for alias, remove the gmail one for now. Can always add back if needed.
Then launch incognito mode, and try the Teams link, see if you can get back in.

Ok. Glad to hear.
On the phone, is it an iphone? Try deleting the app and reinstalling it. See if that helps.

I am having this exact same issue but despite removing the aliases and creating a new outlook one, my deactivated teams account is still not working on computer. I still get the error screen saying something went wrong and am given the options to retry, sign in with a different account, etc.

Ok, on your iPhone, go to Settings > Apps, find the Teams app, scroll to the bottom and turn on the Clear app data toggle.
Then quit your Teams app, restart it, and try again.
