We can’t find any devices linked to your Microsoft account that can be used for reactivating the device you’re using right now. Make sure you’re signed in with the same Microsoft account you linked to the Windows 10 digital license on this device or try again later.

If Windows 11 cannot find any linked device after the hardware change, the supported path is:

    1. Verify the license is linked to the Microsoft account:
      • Go to Start > Settings > System > Activation.
      • If it says Windows is activated with a digital license linked to your Microsoft account, the account is already linked.
      • If it only says Windows is activated with a digital license, sign in as an administrator and use Add an account to link the Microsoft account.
    2. Confirm the installed edition matches the license:
      • On the same Activation page, check whether the device is running Windows 11 Home or Windows 11 Pro.
      • Reactivation works only if the edition before and after the hardware change is the same.
    3. Run the Activation troubleshooter:
      • Go to Start > Settings > System > Activation > Troubleshoot.
      • Select I changed hardware on this device recently.
      • Sign in with the same connected Microsoft account.
      • From the device list, select This is the device I’m using right now, then select Activate.
    4. If the device does not appear in the list:
      • Make sure the same Microsoft account is being used that was associated with the digital license.
      • If the troubleshooter still cannot find the device, Microsoft Support is the next step.
    5. If a product key was originally used:
      • Go to Start > Settings > System > Activation > Change product key.
      • Enter the 25-character product key used previously on that device.
    6. If the hardware change included a motherboard replacement:
      • Windows may no longer find a matching license for the device.
      • If Windows came preinstalled on the device and the motherboard was replaced, a new license may be required.
      • If needed, Start > Settings > System > Activation and select Go to Microsoft Store to purchase a new license.
    7. If the troubleshooter still ends with “contact support”:
      • Use Microsoft customer support for activation help.
      • The support contact entry point provided is: customer support.

    1

What is the basis of the digital licence, where did you get your Windows licence was that pre-installed on the PC or did you purchase a full retail Windows licence from Microsoft or from a 3rd party retailer, and if so, do you have the product key?

Or is your Windows licence based on a previous Windows 7 or 8 licence?

    2

Click your Start Button, type cmd then right click Command Prompt and choose 'Run as Administrator'

Run or paste this command and hit Enter:

    slmgr.vbs /dlv

Please post a screenshot of the resulting dialog

I purchased a genuine Windows digital license several years ago using this Microsoft account.

I recently replaced my motherboard and Windows is no longer activated.

The device still appears in my Microsoft account Devices page, but Activation Troubleshooter reports:

"We can't find any devices linked to your Microsoft account that can be used for reactivating the device you're using right now."

    Error code: 0x803FABC3

Windows edition: Windows 11 Home (Core)

The device was previously activated with a digital license and I am signed in with the same Microsoft account.

Could you please verify whether the digital license is still associated with my account and help me reactivate Windows on the new motherboard?

I purchased a genuine digital Windows license several years ago. It was not pre-installed on the PC and it was not based on a Windows 7 or Windows 8 upgrade license.

I recently replaced the motherboard and Windows is no longer activated.

I am signed in with the same Microsoft account that was used before the hardware change.

The device is still visible in my Microsoft account device list.

    Activation Troubleshooter reports:

"We can't find any devices linked to your Microsoft account that can be used for reactivating the device you're using right now."

    Error code: 0x803FABC3

    My slmgr /dlv output shows:

    • Windows 11 Home (Core)
    • Retail channel
    • License Status: Notification

I do not have the original product key because the license was purchased as a digital license.
