Hi, @Annie Bachand

If you haven't already, completely quit Word, reopen it, and test in a new blank document to see if you can click and drag to select text.

If the issue still persists, to help narrow down the issue:

Can you place the text cursor in Word with the mouse, but just cannot click and drag to highlight text?

Does selecting text with Shift + arrow keys work?

Does this happen in every Word document, including a new blank document?

What macOS version are you using, and what Word version/build is shown under Word > About Microsoft Word?

Thanks!
