Hello CHEN Ariana,
Thank you for providing the information.

Based on the invoices, it appears that you misunderstand between the "Subscription term" and the" Billing Frequency".

Although you have purchased a 1-year Teams Essentials subscription, the invoices show "Monthly subscription charges", which indicates that your subscription is currently being billed monthly, not annually. The two invoices shown are for different service periods:

  • 2026/08/28 - 2026/09/27
  • 2026/09/28 - 2026/10/27

Therefore, these are not duplicate charges. They are charges for two consecutive monthly billing periods.

However, the amount charged on each invoice is relatively high because the subscription currently has 12 licenses. Each invoice shows:

  • 12 licenses
  • Monthly price per license: 29.00
  • Total monthly charge: 348.00

In this situation, I would advise you to create a support ticket to billing team. In the Microsoft 365 Admin Center >> go to Support >> select Help & Support. For detailed instruction, please visit: Get support for Microsoft 365 for business

When contacting them, you may want to explain 2 main points below:

  • If you do not need all 12 licenses, you want to reduce the number of licenses to the quantity you actually need. This will lower future charges.
  • For refund, if applicable:
    • For the current billing period (2026/09/28 - 2026/10/27), if you reduce the license number now, any eligible credit for the unused date of removed licenses will be refunded to your card.
    • For the previous billing period (2026/08/28 - 2026/09/27), if you believe you were charged for licenses that were not used at all, you can provide the details of your situation and the reason for the request. The Billing Support team will review the case and determine whether a refund can be issued and, if so, the refund amount.

I hope this helps clarify why you received two charges. Please feel free to reply with additional information if you need further assistance. I will be glad to help.

Sorry, but you have misunderstood your purchase conditions. Perhaps this was a mistake, but you have not purchased an annual subscription, but a monthly subscription with 12 licenses. This means that each month you are charged for 12 licenses which can be used by members of your business.

    Hello CHEN Ariana,

I understand your concern regarding the additional charge.

To help me determine whether this charge is expected or if a refund may be available, could you please confirm:

    1. Are you using a personal Microsoft account or a Microsoft 365 business/work account?
    2. What is the billing frequency shown for your Teams subscription (Monthly or Yearl/Annually)?
    3. Was the charge on October 2 also 348 CNY, or was it a different amount?
    4. Do you see one subscription or multiple subscriptions listed under your account?
    5. When you check your Order History, do you see two separate orders/invoices, or only one order with two transactions?

Once you provide this information, I'll be able to better understand the reason for the charge and advise on the next step.
