Hello Microsoft Education Support,

I am assisting Universidade Jean Piaget da Guiné-Bissau with setting up Microsoft 365 Education for more than 1,000 students and staff.

We have an active institutional email address and own the domain ujpiaget-edu.gw.

However, the Microsoft 365 Education registration returns "Account Not Allowed." When attempting to access the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, we receive a message indicating that the account does not have permission and that consumer accounts are not supported.

We would like to register the university directly with Microsoft, without a reseller or partner, and complete academic eligibility verification for Office 365 A1 and paid Education licenses.

Could you advise how to initiate the Education trial or obtain direct assistance with creating our institutional tenant?

Thank you.

    Hi @Ruth Sulaimon

Please note that I am not part of Microsoft Education Support. This is a user-to-user community forum, and I do not have access to Microsoft's internal systems, tenant provisioning services, or academic eligibility review process. I can only provide guidance based on publicly available Microsoft documentation and community experience.

Could you please confirm whether you are using an email address from the ujpiaget-edu.gw domain, rather than a personal email account, when attempting to register? If possible, please provide the full error message with any personal or sensitive information removed.

The error message you mentioned when accessing the Microsoft 365 Admin Center may indicate that the Microsoft 365 Education registration has not been completed successfully. If the account has not yet been provisioned as part of a Microsoft 365 tenant, access to the Admin Center will not be available.

To register your school for free Office 365 Education, you may follow these steps:

    1. Go to the Microsoft Education website and navigate to the Office 365 Education sign-up page.
    2. Use a valid school email address from your institution's domain to sign up. This helps Microsoft verify your eligibility for Microsoft 365 Education.
    3. Follow the on-screen instructions and provide the requested information about your institution and your role as an administrator.
    4. Check your email for a verification message from Microsoft and complete the verification process.
You can read more about the academic eligibility verification process here: Verify eligibility for Microsoft 365 Education subscriptions
    5. When you sign up for a free trial, Microsoft evaluates your institution's academic eligibility. In many cases approval is immediate, while some institutions require a manual review and may be asked to provide additional documentation. Microsoft notes that such reviews can take up to 10 business days.

If you continue to receive the "Account Not Allowed" message when using a ujpiaget-edu.gw email address, please let me know and share any additional error details. This may indicate that the institution's domain has not yet been recognized in Microsoft's academic eligibility system and may require further review.
