Copilot suddenly reports "isn't available in your region" after recent update, despite being in Ontario, Canada

Hello,

I am experiencing an issue with Microsoft Copilot that started immediately after a recent update and I am hoping someone can help identify the cause.

When I attempt to use Copilot on my Windows PC, I receive a message indicating that Copilot is not available in my region. I am located in Ontario, Canada, where Copilot is supported, and the service was working normally prior to the update.

Troubleshooting already completed:

  • Confirmed my Microsoft account region is set to Canada.
  • Confirmed Windows regional settings are set to Canada.
  • Confirmed my public IP geolocates correctly to Ontario, Canada.
  • Not using a VPN or proxy.
  • Cleared Edge cache and cookies.
  • Tested in InPrivate mode.
  • Uninstalled and reinstalled the Copilot app.
  • Restarted the PC multiple times.

Additional observations:

  • The issue occurs in both the Copilot app and Copilot in Edge on this PC.
  • Copilot continues to work on my phone while connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • I am signed in using a Microsoft 365 work account.
  • Other Microsoft 365 services appear to be functioning normally.

Given that:

  1. My account, Windows settings, and IP location all show Canada,
  2. The problem began immediately after the recent Copilot update, and
  3. Copilot still works on another device using the same network,

I am wondering whether this could be related to:

  • A recent Copilot update,
  • An issue affecting Microsoft 365 work accounts,
  • A tenant/account recognition problem, or
  • A known bug causing false region detection.

Has anyone else experienced this issue recently, and are there any additional diagnostics or fixes I can try?

Thank you for any assistance.
