Hi, @Carol Morgan
Do you mean when you double-click any JPEG file, Microsoft Photos opens it directly in the editing screen instead of the normal photo viewer?
If so, try repairing the Photos app:
- Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Find "Microsoft Photos" and select the three dots > "Advanced options."
- Select "Repair" first and test again.
- If it still opens directly in the editor, return there and select "Reset."
Also open Microsoft Store > Library and check for an update for Microsoft Photos.
If the issue still persists, does this happen with every JPEG file, and can you share a screenshot of the editor screen that opens automatically?
Click "Add comment" to let me know.
Thanks!
