Bing traffic fell to zero across my domain and six support requests have produced no investigation

My nascent website's (gpsfinance[.]com[.]au Bing impressions and clicks fell to zero in mid-September. After three Webmaster requests and three support cases, I still have no technical response.

  • Key pages are shown as “Discovered but not crawled” or unable to appear on Bing. Live URL Test says 'URL can be indexed by Bing**'**
  • Bing Webmaster Tools incorrectly shows the site as first discovered in 2018, even though I acquired the domain in late 2025 and launched the current website in 2026
  • Bing impressions were rising steadily until 15 September 2026, then suddenly collapsed to zero across the domain
  • I manually requested indexing from Live URL test page and otherwise dozens of times
  • AI referral leads also fell to zero during the same period which is impacting business

My first request promised a response within 10 days, but no Webmaster Engineer contacted me.

Replies to the acknowledgement address bounce.

BWT Support says it cannot handle REQ tickets and keeps directing me back to the same support form.

Requests raised: REQ00325146, REQ00329851, REQ00333190, UCM000007502273, UCM000007507380 and UCM000007521163.

The website, robots.txt and sitemap are accessible, and priority URLs have been submitted through Bing Webmaster Tools.

Could a Microsoft moderator please escalate this to the Bing indexing team, confirm which request is active and arrange a technical review of the domain urgently, please?

Hello,

I need to clear up right away that this is a public forum staffed by fellow users, not Microsoft employees. None of us have backend access to Microsoft systems, so we cannot look up or escalate those support tickets to the Bing indexing team for you.

Based on your traffic dropping entirely to zero out of nowhere while pages are showing as discovered but not crawled, this typically indicates an algorithmic penalty or a spam filter flag triggered on the Bing side, which is a known hurdle for older re-acquired domains in the finance space.

Just to gather a bit more info to see what we can figure out from the outside, do you see any warnings or messages at all under the Security and Privacy section in your Webmaster Tools, and is your property verification currently done via root DNS records rather than just a basic meta tag?

    Microsoft Q&A moderators cannot access Bing’s indexing systems, determine which support request is active, or escalate a domain for review; only Bing Webmaster Support can investigate the domain and reconcile the existing cases. ^1^

    What to do with the existing requests

    Since six requests already exist, submitting URLs or opening more identical cases is unlikely to add useful evidence.

    1. Keep the UCM case that has the most recent confirmation or activity as the primary case.
    2. In any working support conversation, ask Bing Webmaster Support to:
      • identify the currently assigned case;
      • merge or close the duplicates;
      • assign the remaining case to a Global Support Webmaster Engineer;
      • review the domain-wide loss of impressions beginning on the specific date;
      • explain the discrepancy between URL Inspection eligibility and actual crawl/search visibility;
      • review whether historical signals from the domain’s previous ownership are affecting the current site.
    3. Attach a concise evidence package:
      • Search Performance export showing the abrupt fall to zero;
      • representative URLs in each state: “Discovered but not crawled,” “cannot appear,” and “can be indexed”;
      • screenshots and timestamps from URL Inspection;
      • sitemap indexation/coverage export;
      • acquisition and current-site launch dates;
      • the existing case numbers and dates, without opening another duplicate.

    The documented contact route is Bing Webmaster Support. Microsoft Support directs site owners with questions about their Bing presence to the Bing Webmaster Toolbox, and the Webmaster help page provides the support path. ^2^ ^3^

    If the existing support thread cannot receive replies because its acknowledgement address is unmonitored, use the same signed-in Webmaster Tools account and the support portal rather than replying to that address. Public Q&A contributors cannot take ownership of or internally route the case.

    One remaining diagnostic worth adding

    You have already checked accessibility, robots.txt, the sitemap, URL Inspection, and repeated submission, so those steps should not be repeated. Instead:

    1. Open Bing Webmaster Tools → Sitemaps.
    2. Open the submitted sitemap.
    3. Review its indexation details.
    4. Record how many URLs are indexed versus excluded or classified as low quality.
    5. Compare several affected URLs in URL Inspection, including any canonical URL selected by Bing.

    A closely matching Q&A case—zero impressions even though URL Inspection reported successful indexing—recommends checking sitemap-level indexation details before requesting a backend review. It also notes that Webmaster Tools has no setting that can force pages to be served in search results. ^4^

    “URL can be indexed by Bing” establishes eligibility, not that the URL is currently being crawled, retained, or surfaced. Bing’s URL Inspection documentation describes it as the tool for examining index status and detected issues. ^5^

    Interpreting the 2018 discovery date

    The displayed discovery date alone does not establish why traffic collapsed or prove that Bing has associated the current website with an incorrect launch date. Because the domain existed before your acquisition, preserve that field as evidence for the engineer, but do not treat it as the confirmed cause without Bing’s backend findings.

    There is also no public mechanism documented for checking which of several support case numbers is active. That status must come from Webmaster Support. If the portal continues looping without exposing an existing case, the closest published Q&A workaround is to choose Bing Webmaster Tool Related → Other and explicitly request a human engineer—but because you already have multiple UCM/REQ cases, use that only if none of those cases remains accessible. ^6^
