My Azure free trial subscription cannot register the Microsoft.App resource provider. It has been stuck in “Registering” for over 24 hours.

Subscription ID: [paste ID] Tenant ID: 89d2c4ae-e739-4928-83c5-0f6c7dbf8958 Subscription type: Free trial. Region: UK South.

What I’ve tried: az provider register --namespace Microsoft.App, then unregister and register again (twice, over two days). az provider show still reports “Registering”. Microsoft.Web, Microsoft.OperationalInsights and Microsoft.ContainerRegistry registered without trouble.

Impact: I can’t create a Container Apps environment.

Please investigate and either complete the registration or reset it on your side.

Additional context in case it’s relevant: sign-in from the Azure CLI on my PC is blocked with error 530035 using this tenant, although the portal and Cloud Shell work. ACR Tasks also returns TasksOperationsNotAllowed.

Thank you, Patrick

    Hello Patrick.

    Welcome to MS Q&A

Since Microsoft.App has remained in the Registering state for over 24 hours despite multiple registration attempts, this appears to require investigation from Microsoft Support.

Please ask Microsoft support to check the provider registration status at the subscription level and reset or complete the registration if needed. The additional issues with Azure CLI sign-in (error 530035) and ACR Tasks may also need to be investigated separately to determine whether they are related.

As the portal and Cloud Shell are accessible, please continue troubleshooting through Cloud Shell while awaiting support. Share the subscription ID and relevant error details through the support case for further investigation.

    Thanks.

    Deepanshu
