As of this afternoon, I have been unable to access my yahoo mail log in screen using ms edge 11. I have cleared cache, restarted my browser, reduced the tracking to nothing but I still get the following error: An error occurred while processing your request.

Try this in order, testing Yahoo Mail after each step:

  1. Open an InPrivate window in Edge and try the Yahoo sign-in page there.
    • If it works in InPrivate, the issue is likely related to cached site data, cookies, or an extension.
  2. Clear Edge cookies and cached files again for all time.
    • Go to edge://settings/privacy
    • Under Clear browsing data, select Choose what to clear
    • Select Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files
    • Set Time range to All time
    • Select Clear now
    • Restart Edge
  3. Check for a conflicting Edge profile.
    • Go to edge://settings/profiles
    • Sign out of the current profile and sign in again
    • If the problem continues, create a new profile and test Yahoo Mail there
    • Warning: removing a profile deletes local browsing data that is not synced
  4. Remove outdated stored credentials in Windows.
    • Open Credential Manager from Control Panel
    • Under Windows Credentials and Generic Credentials, remove outdated or conflicting entries
    • Restart Edge and test again
  5. Update Edge.
    • Go to edge://settings/help
    • Let Edge check for and install updates
    • Restart the browser after the update
  6. Check network conditions.
    • If a VPN is enabled, disconnect it temporarily and try again
    • If possible, try a different network such as a mobile hotspot
  7. If the issue affects only Yahoo in Edge, verify whether the same Yahoo sign-in page opens in another browser.
    • If it fails there too, the problem is likely not specific to Edge

If Edge sign-in behavior is also failing more broadly, Windows account integration can affect authentication in Edge. In that case:

  • Go to Settings > Accounts > Your info and confirm the Windows account is connected
  • For work or school accounts, also check Settings > Accounts > Access work or school

If the problem continues, collect diagnostics before contacting support:

  • Edge version from edge://settings/help
  • Active policies from edge://policy
  • Network trace from edge://net-export/
  • Identity status from edge://identity-internals/
