i have purchased MO365 business, free for the first month then chargeable. I would like to be able to have the office apps on my desktop, but i am unable to even download those in any capacity. I have original bought my web domain and email from Go Daddy, i did not purchase O365 here i purchased O365 from MS.

I have my Tennant ID and email sign in.

Whenever i try and doo anything it just reopens Go Daddy.

How can i utilise my subscription or do i need to cancel this and purchase through Go Daddy instead?

Hi Lee,

Thank you for sharing the details. You should not need to cancel your Microsoft 365 subscription or purchase it again through GoDaddy at this stage.

First, please check the exact name of the Microsoft 365 plan you purchased. Some business plans, such as:

  • Microsoft 365 Business Basic, provide web and mobile apps only and do not include the desktop versions of Word, Excel, Outlook, and other Office applications.
  • Plans such as Microsoft 365 Business Standard and Microsoft 365 Business Premium include the desktop Office applications.

If your plan includes desktop applications, you can try the following:

  1. Open a private or incognito browser window to avoid automatically signing in with the GoDaddy-managed account.
  2. Go to https://admin.microsoft.com and sign in using the administrator account associated with the subscription purchased directly from Microsoft. If available, try the original account ending in onmicrosoft.com rather than the custom-domain email address.
  3. In the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, go to Users > Active users, select your account, and confirm that the purchased license has been assigned to it.
  4. Then go to https://m365.cloud.microsoft/apps, sign in with the same licensed account, and select Install apps > Microsoft 365 apps. Microsoft’s installation guidance confirms that the installation option is accessed using the account associated with the subscription and an assigned license.

Additional guidance: Download, install, or reinstall Microsoft 365 or Office 2024 on a PC or Mac | Microsoft Support

If signing in with the custom-domain email address continues to redirect you to GoDaddy, the domain or account may still be associated with a GoDaddy-managed Microsoft 365 tenant. In that case, do not remove the domain, cancel the existing email service, or change DNS records without assistance, as this could affect your current email service.

I recommend contacting GoDaddy Support to clarify whether your email account is part of a GoDaddy-managed Microsoft 365 tenant. If your intention is to move its management directly to Microsoft, ask GoDaddy about the supported process for moving or defederating the Microsoft 365 account.

I hope this information helps move the case forward. Should you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please feel free to share them in the comment below. I'm very happy to help.
