A family of Microsoft spreadsheet software with tools for analyzing, charting, and communicating data.
Yes. The supported way is to connect Microsoft Forms to an Excel workbook and then have each new response added automatically.
A simple end-to-end setup:
- Create or open the Excel workbook that will store the responses.
- Store it in OneDrive or SharePoint.
- Create a table in the worksheet for the response data.
- In Microsoft Forms, use the form that collects the questionnaire responses.
- Forms responses can be viewed and exported to Excel.
- An Excel workbook with response data is stored in OneDrive or SharePoint Online, depending on where the form started.
- In Power Automate, create an automated flow:
- Select Create.
- Choose Automated cloud Flow.
- Set the trigger to Microsoft Forms – When a new response is submitted.
- Add the Forms action to read the submitted answers:
- Add Microsoft Forms – Get response details.
- Select the same form.
- In Response Id, choose Response Id from dynamic content.
- Add the Excel action to write the response into the spreadsheet:
- Add Excel Online (Business) – Add a row into a table.
- Choose the workbook location in OneDrive or SharePoint.
- Select the file and the table.
- Map each form question to the matching Excel column.
- Save the flow and submit a test response.
- Expected result: each new Microsoft Forms submission is added as a new row in the Excel table automatically.
If the goal is to calculate totals or aggregate values after the responses arrive in Excel, add Excel formulas in extra columns. For example, Excel can calculate totals from numeric response columns, and functions such as AGGREGATE can summarize data while ignoring errors.
